Send a Veteran on a Healing Journey
Help fund a veteran's Healing Grant, providing access to potentially life-changing psychedelic-assisted therapy and support.

Veterans put their lives on the line for us and our country, but are we doing everything we can to help them recover from the invisible wounds of war? PTSD, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and other traumas are fueling a suicide epidemic that claims the lives of roughly 20 veterans per day.
At VETS, we know there is a path forward. Veterans are finding healing through psychedelic-assisted therapies, but access remains limited and out of reach.
Your donation helps Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS) expand access, support groundbreaking research, and drive policy change—all in pursuit of our mission to END the veteran suicide epidemic.

We Need a New Solution for Veteran Mental Health.
Whether it's during training or deployment, the dangers of military service can inflict lingering wounds that often emerge once a veteran returns home. Traumatic brain injuries (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and moral injury impact the ability of veterans to lead normal, healthy lives. The challenges of civilian life have led to elevated rates of depression, addiction, and suicide.
Since 9/11, veteran suicide has risen at a staggering rate. It is now the second-leading cause of death for veterans under 45. To address this crisis, we need to explore new treatment options that give our veterans the post-service care they deserve.

A Torchbearer lights the way for others and is steadfast in their commitment to veterans.
They believe the veteran mental health crisis is not a permanent reality — it is a challenge to be met with courage, innovation, and action. By advancing research, expanding access to innovative treatments, and advocating for lasting change, they help build a future where more veterans can heal.
A Torchbearer isn't defined by how they give. They're defined by why they give. Whether you make a meaningful gift, become a Monthly Torchbearer, or host a Torchbearer Gathering, you're helping light the way for veterans and their families.
2022 Torchbearer Award Recipient
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry
Governor Rick Perry understands service from the inside. A U.S. Air Force veteran who went on to serve as Governor of Texas and U.S. Secretary of Energy, he became one of the first public officials in the nation to champion research into psychedelic-assisted therapies for veterans.
His early advocacy helped lay the groundwork for Texas HB 1802, which created the state's first government-funded clinical study of psilocybin-assisted therapy for veterans with PTSD. In 2025, he championed SB 2308, which launched the $50 million Texas Ibogaine Initiative, the nation's largest state-funded psychedelic research program.
In 2022, VETS honored Governor Perry with the Torchbearer Award for his visionary leadership. Today, he continues to open doors, challenge stigma, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the veteran community.
Texas House District 8
State Representative Cody Harris
A fifth-generation East Texan, Representative Cody Harris has served House District 8 since 2019, representing Anderson, Cherokee, and Navarro counties and part of Henderson County. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership (TALL) Program, and today chairs the House Committee on Natural Resources.
For veterans, his signature achievement is the Texas Ibogaine Initiative. In 2025, he authored House Bill 3717 and carried its Senate companion, SB 2308, through the Texas House. Signed into law that June, the initiative commits up to $50 million to FDA-authorized clinical trials of ibogaine, the largest state-funded psychedelic research program in the nation.
"Without the VETS organization and the personal stories of so many veterans, the Texas Ibogaine Initiative would never have gotten off the ground."
Representative Cody Harris
